A Paint Surprise!

While I was away at a race, playing in the woods for hours on end, Husband painted the office! We decided to do a full color wash with the exception of the bookcases. We thought the paint sprayer would be the way to go despite how long the prep work takes. Husband tells me that was NOT the case, he really didn’t have anything good to say about his paint spraying experience – oops. But by the time I got home, he was done painting and we left the zipper closure up so the paint fumes and droplets would have time to dissipate.
I could hardly wait to open it up and see the paint! Paint makes it feel like you’re getting really close to the finish, doesn’t it?! When we opened it up, I was surprised to see that it looked very purple! I know taupe can have a tendency to look a little purple but this looked really purple in a lot of different lighting conditions. *Sigh. You know how sometimes when you change something, it takes a little bit of time for your eyeballs to adjust? That’s what I’m hoping for here – I’m going to let this settle into my eyeballs for a bit before I panic that I made the wrong paint choice.

This week I’m working on painting the built-ins so we can hang the light fixture and I can hopefully get started on wallpaper next week. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about it, it’s only my second time ever hanging wallpaper and of course, it’s $pendy so I feel like the stakes are high for me to get it right. No guts no glory, as they say! And hopefully we’ll get the pendant hung this weekend!
